Sluggers Live Up to Name to Stay Alive

The Wichita Sluggers banged out 14 hits and scored 11 runs as they defeated the Communtiy Bank Cowboys in their elimination game on Wednesday. The big hitter for the Sluggers was Tyler Grimes as he went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI's. One of his hits was a two run triple in the3rd inning. Jordan Cooper also had 3 hits in the game.
Leading the Cowboys in hitting was Mike Funky as he went 3 for 4. Unfortunately he did not have any teammates hitting before or after him reaching enough for it to help the team. Jonathan Guttierez struck out 5 batters in his 4 innings of work for the Cowboys.
The Sluggers will play next on Friday against the Seguin (TX) CMC Steelers.
