Acosta's walk-off send the Hutchinson Monarchs home winners, 4-3

A walk-off from Luke Acosta brought home the winning run for the Hutchinson Monarchs (2-0) in a 4-3 victory over the Liberal Bee Jays at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Wednesday.

Tyler Detmer got on base three times in the game for the Hutchinson Monarchs. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Paul White pitched lights out for the Hutchinson Monarchs. The Liberal Bee Jays (1-1) managed just one hit off of the the Hutchinson Monarchs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Junior Mustain recorded his second win of the tournament for the Hutchinson Monarchs. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.

John Branum couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Liberal Bee Jays, taking a loss. In one-third of an inning, he walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
