Newton scored 5 runs in the 7th inning and got a huge lead in their game against the Houston Apollos. They had been leading the game 3-2 and with the 5 runs made it 8-2. The Rebels were led offensively by Andrew Perez, who was 4-5 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Kyle Cremers held the Apollos to 2 runs while striking out 6 in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Newton advances to play Junction City on Friday, August 7.
Houston has been eliminated.
