WICHITA, Kansas - Somewhere Raymond "Hap" Dumont is looking down and saying this is why I did what I did. Friday night at 7:00 p.m. the Seattle Studs and Liberal Bee Jays, both 6-1 in the tournament, will square off in a one-game, winner take all, National Championship game at the BaseballSavings.com 76th Annual National Baseball Congress World Series.
Thursday night the Bee Jays eliminated the Denver Cougars with a 10-2, 7-inning, run-rule victory to earn a spot in the title game. Seattle followed suit knocking off, NBC power, the Santa Barbara Foresters by a final score of 11-6.
Liberal will go for their 5th NBC National Championship while the Studs look for their first, despite two other chances that came up short. It is sure to be a baseball fans dream!
NBC Alumni Terry Elliot and Jerry Squired will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame prior to the first pitch along with a very special Hap Dumont Award presentation.
Tickets are available by phone by calling (316) 264-6887 or by visiting the NBC Ticket Office.
