WICHITA, KS- Sedalia (MO) Bombers defeated Tulsa (OK) Red Rockets 12-4 on the opening night of BaseballSavings.com 76th Annual NBC Tournament at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Sedalia scored four runs in the second inning and a Jonathan Wegener homerun gave the Bombers a 5-0 lead in the fifth. Wegener was two for five with two runs scored and two RBI on the night.
Jake Parsons lead off double sparked a four run Red Rockets inning cutting the deficit to one after five. Parsons led Tulsa going four for four with two runs scored.
In the eight the Bombers blew it open sending eleven batters to the plate, scoring seven runs. Jeremy Patton's two hit inning piloted a seven run frame in the 12-4 run rule victory. Patton finished the night three for five; Jose Behar was two for four.
The loss moves the Red Rockets to the loser's bracket where they will play Play Ball Sports on Sunday, August 1st, at 1pm. Sedalia advances in the winner's bracket to play the Derby Twins on Monday, August 2nd at a to be determined time.
