In a 7-1 blowout victory the San Diego Waves defeated the Play Ball (CO) Sports in opening action on Wednesday. The Waves piled up the runs early, scoring six runs in the first inning. The Sports were unable to answer and could only score a single run which came in the third. Widening the scoring gap, the Waves capped the game with another run in the eighth and never looked back - leaving the Sports in their trail.
