In a game that got off to a wild start the Sedalia (MO) Bombers snuck away with a 9-7 victory over the Newton Rebels. The Bombers leapt to a 5-0 lead after the end of the first inning. Two errors by the Rebels early in the game cost them three runs, they also scored two of their own runs in the second to put the score at 5-2. The Bombers decided to try to put the game away and scored a solo run in the third and three more in the fourth. A late rally by the Rebels, one run in the sixth and two each in the seventh and eighth closed the gap between the two teams but the Bombers held on to a two run lead through the ninth and clinched the game. Bombers DH Jason McBride came up big with two runs scored and two RBI.
