Kings Defeat Sluggers In Opening Action

« Back to News

The opening game of the NBC World Series pitted the Team Elite Kings and Hap Dumont Sluggers in a matchup of two teams from Wichita. The Kings topped the Sluggers 6-4. The Sluggers got off to a fast start by picking up three runs in the first inning. The Sluggers tried to answer with two runs of their own in the third inning but the Kings retailiated and picked up two more in the fourth and one more in the fifth inning. The Sluggers could only manage to pick up two more runs in the late innings and sputtered out by the ninth, unable to score two more runs in an attempt at a late rally. The Kings finished second in the NBC Midwest Regional and will move on to play on August 6th at 7:30 PM against last years NBC World Series champion, the Santa Barbara Foresters.
