In the closing action of day three at the NBC Midwest Regional the Hutchinson Monarchs beat and eliminated the Valley Center Diamond Dawgs 11-8. Both teams rolled through four pitchers but the Monarchs Payne Spence picked up the win, with 4 innings pitched with four earned runs and two strikeouts. Aiding the Monarchs pitching crew were first baseman Bryce Miller, who drove in four runs and right fielder Bryan Chestnut, who scored three runs.
