Both teams needed the win but in the end it was the Hutchinson Monarchs who survived against the Lindsborg Knights 4-3. The Knights had twelve hits, almost double the seven that the Monarchs had but could not manufacture any runs to pull ahead and take the win. The Monarchs were aided by a flawless defensive game and had zero errors, while the Knights had two. Monarchs second baseman Dennis Grant had two RBI and helped the team move on another day in the NBC Midwest Regional Tournament.
