The first day of the NBC Midwest Regional came to an end as the El Dorado Broncos moved past the Hutchinson Monarchs 9-2. An early battle against pitchers went haywire when the Broncos exploded with four runs in the fifth and seventh innings to add to the single run they picked up in the first. The Monarchs tried to rally but only picked up two runs, one each in the eigth and ninth innings. Both teams had three errors but Kirk Walker stood out as a difference maker for the Broncos as he had three hits, two runs scored and one run driven in on five at bats.
