In the opening action in day two of the NBC Midwest Regional the Team Elite Kings defeated the Community Bank Cowboys 12-5. The Kings picked up one run in the first inning and two more in the third. The Cowboys fought back and took the lead with a monstrous fifth inning where they grabbed five runs of their own. That would be the only bright spot for the Cowboys, who struggled the rest of the game and did not manage to add any more to their run total. The Kings on the other hand notched six more runs to their belt in the sixth and left the Cowboys in the dust. The King's right hand man was designated hitter Bret Lentz, who drove in two runs and had 4 hits on 5 at bats. With the loss the Cowboys will move into the losers bracket and play the Lindsborg Knights Sunday at 10 AM. The Kings passed their first test and will play the winner of the Wichita Sluggers and the Valley Center Diamond Dawgs on Monday at 7 PM.
