In the first game played at the 75th NBC Midwest Regional the Wichita Astros prevailed over the Lindsborg Knights 3-1. Both teams struggled to get runs early in the game but the Astros got one in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth. The Knights had one run scored by right fielder Kyle Strom off a throwing error in the sixth inning but could not find home plate the remainder of the game. Astros pitcher Matt Braumberger played all nine innings and allowed only one run on seven hits. Providing plenty of offense for the Astros was center fielder Ryan Herrig who had two hits and one run in five at bats. It was a promising start for the Air Capital Astros who now face the number one seeded Park City Rangers tommorow night at 7:00 PM.
