The 75th Annual NBC World Series will begin on Saturday, August 1st with the Alaska Goldpanners facing the Liberal (KS) Bee Jays. These two storied teams are also celebrating significant anniversary seasons - the Goldpanners are beginning their 50th year and the Bee Jays are celebrating their 55th season.
The Alaska Goldpanners have won the NBC Championship six times ('72-'73-'74-'76-'80-'02) and the Liberal Bee Jays have won four titles ('68-'79-'85-'00). These two teams have been in the NBC Finals a combined 23 times over the 75 years of play. Having the Goldpanners and the Bee Jays opening the 75th Anniversary of the NBC World Series should be a treat for the fans.
During the tournament, fans will be able to vote for the 75th Anniversary All-Time All-Tournament team. Ballots will be available at the stadium for all fans to vote for their favorite NBC players. The players will be voted on by position and the top vote getters will be announced at the end of the tournament.
