Sixth-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Hays Larks, 11-1

The Hays Larks (4-1) beat the Hutchinson Monarchs 11-1 in six innings on Monday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium after a six-run explosion in the sixth inning at the National Baseball Congress World Series.

Austin Darby racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Hays Larks. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Justin Ziegler picked up the win for the Hays Larks. Ziegler pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out four.

Zach Richert ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the NBCWS.  He lasted 4 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

With the win Hays advances in the loser's bracket of the NBCWS, while the Hutchinson Monarchs are eliminated with a 9th place finish.
