Jess Bolen Inducted to NBC Hall of Fame

Jess Bolen HOF InductionJess Bolen was inducted into the 2008 Class of the National Baseball Congress Hall of Fame on Tuesday, August 5th.  Mr. Bolen is the reason that the Capaha organization is alive and well.  The Capahas, founded in 1894, are the oldest amateur team in America.  For years the Cape Girardeau (MO) Capahas were one of the strongest teams in semi-pro baseball in the Midwest.

About 40 years ago, with the Capahas struggling to stay alive, Jess and his wife, Mary, dedicated their lives to the Capahas.  The Bolens have been a beacon of strength for the Capaha players, both past and present.  With the support of his wife and family, Mr. Bolen has served as the General Manager of the team and also the Chairman of the Capahas Field Committee.  Under his guidance, Capaha Field have undergone many improvements and "face lifts."

During his tenure as Manager, Jess Bolen has compiled an overall record of 1,331 wins and 346 losses for a winning percentage of .794.  For the past forty-two years, Jess Bolen has provided the necessary leadership and guidance to make the Plaza Tire Capahas one of the elite teams in the National Baseball Congress

The National Baseball Congress proudly presents Jess Bolen as the newest inductee into the Hall of Fame.
